On 13 Feb., 1329, an enquiry before King’s Bench if a plea was entered that Robt. Barry, Kt„ should grant to John Brocas, Kt„ the next presentation to the Church of Tollerton. Answer in the negative. In 1330 John Brocas was permitted by the King to appoint a clerk to Tollerton, p.h.v., instead of Robt. Barry, Kt. No such appointment is found, which may indicate a gap at this place in the list. (Possibly an appointment cir. 1331 by Ralph Barry should follow) | ||||

Appointed during the Commonwealth, dispossessing his predecessor. Ejected 1662. Described in 1650 by Parl. Commission “having cure of soules there diligently supplies the cure in his owne person beinge a godly preachinge minister.” He afterwards conformed, 1665. Daniel Chadwick reports on Conventicles at Arnold in 1669, when he was curate-in-charge in 1665, and later, vicar, d. 1701 In Tollerton Par. Reg. of 1600 is the burial of “Mr. Danl. Chadwick” perhaps the rector’s father. The Chadwicks and Pendocks inter-married. | ||||

Mr. Job Falkner, Rector of T., died at Bath and was buried there in the parish church of St. James.” |
